Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us

Last Updated: July 4, 2026

ChordMM ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website chordmm.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

01. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, chosen username, and password (stored securely using industry-standard encryption).

Google Sign-In

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We do not access your Google contacts, files, or any other Google data.

Profile Information

You may optionally upload a profile picture or select a preset avatar. Uploaded images are stored on our servers and displayed only within the Service.

User Content

We store the guitar tabs and related content you create using our Service, including tab titles, song information, notation data, and timestamps.

Automatically Collected Information

When you access our Service, we automatically collect technical diagnostics: IP address, browser information, device metrics, pages visited, and referring URLs.

🎙️ Microphone Access

Our Guitar Tuner tool may request access to your device's microphone to detect pitch for tuning purposes. Microphone audio is processed entirely within your browser and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to our servers. You can deny or revoke this access at any time via browser settings.

02. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
  • Process and manage your account and stored guitar tabs
  • Send important service-related or authorized marketing communications
  • Respond to inquiries, analyze site usage, and prevent fraud/abuse

03. Cookie Usage & Local Storage

We use cookies and equivalent browser technologies to optimize operations:

  • Essential Cookies: Maintain your active login session and user preferences.
  • Analytics Cookies: Understand site interactions via Google Analytics.
  • Advertising Cookies: Deliver relevant advertising banners via Google AdSense.
  • Browser Local Storage: Stores information locally on your device (such as in-progress chord drafts and free export counters) to keep performance fast. This data stays on your machine and is not sent to our servers.

You can clear cookies or browser local storage via your browser settings, though some functional features may become limited.

04. Third-Party Integrations

We link with the following third-party integrations which manage operational data subject to their independent privacy terms:

  • Google Analytics: Utilized for monitoring website flow and general traffic demographics.
  • Google AdSense: Used to display dynamic ads based on historical browsing traits.
  • Google Sign-In (OAuth): Enables secure authentication profiles without sharing primary Google passwords.

05. Data Security

We use secure HTTPS connections, end-to-end access logs, and encrypted user password storage protocols to maintain data integrity. However, note that no digital transaction strategy is 100% impenetrable. While we practice strict security protocols, complete safety cannot be unconditionally guaranteed.

06. Data Retention

Your profiles remain persistent while your account settings are active. If you request permanent account erasure via your Account Settings dashboard, your tracking variables and assets will be systematically deleted or anonymized within 30 days.

⚠️ Important Disclaimer

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, ChordMM is not responsible for data loss due to technical failures, security breaches, or other circumstances beyond our control. We strongly recommend keeping local backups of any important custom tab configurations.

07. Legal Rights & Compliance

Depending on global residency directives, your administrative adjustments include rights to Access, Correct, Export, or Delete private data sets. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)

Includes legal entitlements to restrict or object to parsing, request structured portable outputs, or withdraw consents instantly.

California Residents (CCPA)

Grants comprehensive insight privileges into tracked parameters, disclosure logging clarity, and full anti-discrimination safety metrics.

08. Email Communications

Communications fall under two strict classifications:

  • Service Emails: System verifications, resets, and security bulletins essential to ongoing operations. These cannot be disabled. New registrations trigger a verification string active for 24 hours.
  • Marketing Emails: Tips, features, and curated guides dispatched exclusively upon clear opt-in permissions. You can opt out at any time using the text links or via our unsubscribe page.

09. Children's Privacy

Our services are explicitly designed for audiences over 13 years of age. We do not purposefully target or index information linked to minors. Contact us if you believe a minor's records have been submitted, and we will purge the target parameters.

10. International Transfers

Information metrics may be transferred to and maintained on cloud assets situated outside your local state boundaries, where privacy guidelines might vary. By utilizing our operations, you recognize and confirm these transfer policies.

11. Privacy Amendments

We reserve options to refine this Privacy Policy. Critical changes will be marked alongside updated "Last Updated" revisions explicitly posted here. Continued interactions highlight acceptance terms.
